The Role

In order to support our newly commissioned oxygen delivery plant to our G3 Furnace, we are seeking an ambitious and compassionate Mechanical Trades Technician to join the General Maintenance team. In the role of Process Technician, the candidate will support and collaborate closely with the General Maintenance and Engineering teams throughout all phases of the project lifecycle and beyond. This role will focus in supporting the installation, ongoing operation and maintenance of two Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) oxygen plants and associated oxygen piping to feed the G3 Furnace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure there is a safe, reliable & constant supply of oxygen to the glass furnace

  • Engage with Orora provided training with internal and external resources to develop a detailed knowledge of the oxygen plant’s systems, construction and maintenance

  • Analyse daily and monthly KPI efficiency data trends to recommend solutions on deviations to plant performance

  • Review technical specification documents to develop comprehensive checklists for safe daily operation and maintenance of the oxygen plant

  • Maintain a clean and fastidious work environment

  • Ensuring safety compliance is maintained in line with regulatory guidelines

  • Work collaboratively with the Orora site teams including electricians, maintenance fitters, engineers and contractors

  • Provide technical writing support for the development of on-site training and assessment reports

About You

Successful applicants will:

  • Hold a Cert III – Mechanical Engineering trade qualification

  • Have 3 + years of previous experience in a Mechanical technical professional setting

  • Have previous experience working with VPSA plants, air compressors and other related mechanical equipment

  • Have previous experience in project management

  • Display a willingness to learn engage with formal and informal training programs

  • Posses the ability to multi-task on several projects at once and meet project deadlines

  • Show strong communication skills be able to collaborate with project stakeholders
