Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Program Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating clinical trials and other clinical research projects in the Johns Hopkins Multiple Sclerosis Center. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, screening medical records, identifying appropriate patients, consenting study participants, performing data collection and entry, obtaining and processing specimens (e.g., blood, urine), and organizing regulatory paperwork. The position reports to the Sr. Research Program Manager, with an indirect reporting line to the faculty principal investigators of the clinical research projects.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and projects and their reporting requirements and adhere to all protocol and regulatory requirements to ensure the validity of the clinical research data.

  • Work directly with the principal investigators and other study coordinators to execute multiple study protocols.

  • Assist with the amendment of existing protocols and/or development of new study protocols as needed.

  • Attend clinics, screen potential participants and carry out research-related procedures with participants

  • Monitor, schedule, and execute participants’ study visits.

  • Obtain and process specimens (e.g., blood, urine) according to protocols.

  • Assist with reconciling study related invoices as needed.

  • Manage and maintain all participant binders, study binders, and documentation for the study.

  • Assist the principal investigators in preparing for audits, advertising for the studies, implementing new recruitment strategies, preparing reports for the IRB, and handling and documenting IRB correspondence.

  • Assist with database management.

  • May attend educational lectures and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience with Stata, ACCESS, and REDCap preferred.

  • Phlebotomy skills preferred (or willingness to learn).

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
