Description

Our community development team in Darwin is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join and contribute to the growth and success of our team. This role will suit a candidate who is attracted to the Stantec culture and project variety in a day-to-day sense, whilst having the opportunity to develop their career within a global business, as part of a successful and well-regarded team.

We operate across all building types, including health, education, defence, commercial, retail and residential buildings. The role will enable the candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to thrive in a successful global firm during this exciting chapter of growth.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Structural analysis and design management of a variety of civil infrastructure and Defence related projects.

  • Large scale asset maintenance and condition assessment

  • Concept and detailed design of a variety of concrete and steel structures, including warehouses, office buildings, multi-storey apartments.

  • Site inspections, including confined spaces and working at heights, liaison with clients, travel to remote communities and travel in light aircraft

  • Providing up to date knowledge of construction methods and materials, and their impact on design

  • Delivery of practical and innovative engineering solutions for clients

  • Collaborating across disciplines to deliver a complete solution to a project

  • Ensuring technical work and design calculations are of the highest standard

About you

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering coupled with demonstrated structural design experience

  • Ideally experienced within a consulting environment, delivering a wide range of projects

  • Experience using a palette of structural materials including concrete, steel, masonry and timber

  • Familiarity with the current Australian design codes, including but not limited to AS1170, AS3600, AS3700 and AS4100.

  • Familiarity with the analysis, design, reporting and presentation tools such as Spacegass, Microstran, Structural Toolkit, RAPT, Inducta (RCB, SLB, FTG and RCC), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite, BlueBeam, etc.

  • Acute communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management and external stakeholders to produce commercial, client focused outcomes

  • An enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the growth and development of the team

  • Obtain CP Eng and NT Registration as soon as eligible

  • Eligible to obtain Defence baseline security clearance
