About the Role

  • This role is responsible for handling the controls, compliance & ethics, and risk management agenda across Diageo Mexico (Demand function)

  • The Corporate Governance agenda is one of the key pillars of Diageo Mexico Strategy.

  • It requires a robust control environment, extraordinary risk management, and a strong culture of compliance.

  • Diageo Mexico has complex and evolving market conditions, while maintaining a rock-solid comprehensive control environment is a crucial element to Diageo Mexico

Top 5 Accountabilities:

  • This role will advocate and handle the accountabilities related to ‘doing business in the right way' across end to end Demand function.

  • Drive the embedding of Diageo’s global Risk Management Standard

  • Deliver all aspects of Diageo’s Controls Assurance and Risk Management (CARM) process

  • Monitor, supervise, and independently conduct internal investigations into potential violations of law and/or Code of Business Conduct, Global Policies other potential policies and control issues

  • Build and deliver Business Integrity training sessions and work with the global team to develop compliance training strategy.

  • Reporting to global management

Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages

  • Experience gained through a professional background in risk management, controls improvement, internal or external assurance or compliance and ethics working within a multi-national environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance & risk function. Recognized professionally for having a consistent track record in assisting Corporates to handle material compliance related controls and risks, contributing to improving an integrity-driven culture and ensuring effective implementation of a compliance programme

  • Professional qualifications in Compliance and Risk Management (preferred but not essential)

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Perceptive and appreciative of different countries’ cultural differences.

  • Experience of working in ‘virtual teams’ with colleagues in different functions and locations.

  • Strong project management focus and ability to proactively handle own workload.

  • High level of personal integrity, and confirmed ability to ‘stand tall’ challenging environments.
