Job Description

The Finance Technical Lead is primarily accountable for leading the ARC MiLens Team for producing daily sales flash focused on providing a comprehensive view to evaluate sales performance, ensuring smooth closing, apply expertise in evaluating organizational needs, determine the development of technical solutions & management reporting through timely & accurate service delivery, and applying expert knowledge to resolve challenges.

The opportunity

Have the opportunity to interface to a wide network of decision makers - Asia Regional Controllers, Asia Business Units and SLTs, the role is expected to contribute to achieve the business objective of improved organizational efficiency.

Management Reporting

  • Primarily responsible on the oversight and completion of end-to-end sales reporting process to ensure data integrity of Asia dashboards which are primarily used across all Asia markets, major distribution channels, and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Perform first level periodic reporting review for both financial and non-financial sales metrics to enable better business decisions, manage the continuous evolution and delivery of management reporting for Asia regions.

  • Work with stakeholders to identify reporting trends and highlight sales metrices that need management attention aligning the Regional Office and Asia Division strategic goals.

  • Responsible in managing the stakeholders, timely and effective communication, and escalation in cases of issues/delays in the reports, lead the root cause analysis and action planning in cases of incidents, and providing of timely and relevant updates to stakeholders on the status and progress of resolution of issues.

Operational Support

  • Manage the teams’ day-to-day processes promoting efficiency and team effectiveness.

  • Responsible in partnership with the leader on the effective task review and allocation across team members, provide training and quality review and coaching for other team members to ensure process expertise and knowledge is sustained across the team.

  • Effective capacity management support through recommending and assigning tasks between team members and monitoring the required business deliverables.

  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service by proactively promoting client centricity.

  • Act as the project coordinator who will oversee the planning, implementation, streamlining, and automation of projects.

  • Takes initiative in resolving critical issues raised during operations, proactively manage, and monitor control efficacy to ensure potential risk is minimized.

  • Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to management as well as to the business unit in a timely manner. Support ad-hoc analysis to identify root cause of production problems and develop timely solutions.

Process Migration and Operational Excellence & Efficiency

  • Lead the sales process migration and transform the current reporting models to be Data Lake centric, in partnership with Asia Transformation and COE teams (PBI, Anaplan, Alteryx).

  • Governance on process improvements, organize process solutions, and re-engineering of deliverables to establish efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Promotes strong partnership with Anaplan and PowerBI COE teams in investigating to address any queries from stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.

  • Take lead in identifying efficiency opportunities through process reviews, ensuring that knowledge transfers, parallel runs, and process documentations meet the MBPS standard.

  • Able to train new and/or junior team members, to set up proper back up support system. Provide regular trainings to ensure that technical knowledge and expertise is retained and passed on the team.

Leadership/Management

  • Takes the lead in the absence of leader to oversee regular business reviews, produce dashboard and metric reports detailing team’s performance (productivity, utilization, and attendance), challenges and areas for improvement.

  • Ensure Service Level Agreements within MBPS and Business Unit compliance standards are met at all times.

Special Projects

  • Special projects will arise from time to time that requires strong financial knowledge, analytical and organizational skills with an innovative mindset. The role is responsible for ad-hoc projects as required by senior management pertaining to the introduction of new services, products, and processes designed.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of progressive financial reporting and management experience; Preferably with Life insurance industry experience.

  • University degree in accounting, finance, or business management and or recognized accounting designation.

  • Knowledge in Datalake Azure, Anaplan, PowerBI, and Alteryx automation tools is a plus.

  • Experience working with senior management teams (Strong stakeholder management requiring persuasion / influencing skills); relationship building and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strong stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Strong finance and project management skills with a solid understanding of the business environment.

  • Able to cope in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, with the mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence.

  • Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with senior officers and representatives from other Divisions and functional departments.
