Universal Health Services ACTIVITY COORDINATOR in RENO, Nevada

Responsibilities

Willow Springs Center is looking for compassionate and dedicated Activity Coordinators!

Schedules available:

Wednesday- Saturday 10:30am-9:00pm

The purpose of the Activity Coordinator is to provide structured activities and therapeutic interventions during program hours and to support the mission and vision of the Nursing Department. They are responsible to manage the milieu and promote stimulating programming for patients. Activity Coordinators act as a role model for our patients (aged 12-17 years) by demonstrating appropriate behavior and applying active listening techniques. They also establish therapeutic interpersonal relationships with assigned patients through one-on-one interactions in order to accomplish treatment plan goals.Our Activity Coordinators protect patients’ rights by demonstrating appropriate professional and personal behavior, reporting observed violations of patients’ rights and suspected or known instances of client abuse or neglect. Activity Coordinators are called to respond to safety and security issues according to established procedures and will transport patients to and from scheduled appointments and outings using company vehicles. Activity Therapists who engage in psychosocial rehabilitation programs may go into the child’s home to provide skill building sessions with children and families.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year in mental health area; experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatry preferred.
